Dr. Bernadette Cap

Bernadette’s research is focused on economic organization of the Classic Maya. Her approach is multifaceted and includes application of LiDAR and satellite imagery, microartifact analysis, soil chemical testing, and the use of GIS for spatial statistical analysis. Bernadette completed her Ph.D. in 2015 and is an Affiliated Researcher in Anthropology at the University of Texas-San Antonio and an Assistant Professor at San Antonio College. In 2017, she won the prestigious “best dissertation award” from the Society for American Archaeology (SAA).
