Sissel’s research focuses on architectural variation, sociopolitical complexity, historical ecology, and the history of archaeology, through fieldwork and collections-based work in western Kentucky, the Cahokia area, and southern Wisconsin. Currently she is developing a novel 3D approach to the investigation of fabric impressions in ceramics.
